Jason Booher is Named PHS Principal Mr. Jason Booher and Family

Pikeville Independent Schools will enter it’s 103rd year, with a new principal at the helm of Pikeville High School.  The School-Based Decision Making Council hired Jason Booher as the next Instructional Leader of Pikeville High School.

Mr. Booher is a veteran educator of twenty-two years with experience spanning from rural, military, inner city, and independent school districts.  He began his educational career as a mathematics teacher and later devoted seventeen years of his life to high school administration.  He has spent the past four years serving as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director of PHS.

‘In any occupation or in life, our goal should always be to leave it better than you found it.  That will be an incredible challenge at Pikeville High School since ACT scores are at an all-time high, all seniors graduating with a diploma in May are all enrolled at a college or university this month, and there is a waiting list of parents wanting to enroll their children for the upcoming school year.   We look forward to Mr. Booher continuing to build on what Principal David Thomas has led at PHS the past four years.
