Pikeville Middle School Academic Team Advances to State 2018 PJHS Academic Team

Congratulations to our Middle School Academic Team for their performance in Governor's Cup Regional competition!

The PJHS Quick Recall team took first place at Regionals and will advance to State Governor's Cup in March. Members of the Quick Recall team include  eighth graders Anaya Ali, Andrew Sandfer, Lucas Shepherd, Felicity Tan and Noah Thacker; seventh graders Christina Al Akhrass and Maddox Parsons; sixth graders Clint Goff, Aneesh Sharma Eli Tan.

Advancing to state in Science include first place winner Christina Al Akhrass, second place winner Noah Thacker and fourth place winner Aneesh Sharma.

Advancing to state in March in Social Studies include first place winner Noah Thacker and third place winner Clint Goff.

In Arts and Humanities, first place winner Christina Al Akhrass, second place winner Anaya Ali and third place winner Aastha Patel will advance to state.

First place winner Felicity Tan and fourth place winner Eli Tan will advance to state in Language Arts.

In Math, first place winner Aneesh Sharma and fourth place winner Maddox Parson will advance to state.

Third place winner Felicity Tan will advance to state in Composition.

Our Future Problem Solving Team placed third in Regionals.  Team members include Dylan Street, Anaya Ali, Noah Howie, Fatima Amhad, Lucas Sheppard and Caedan Bartley.

Congratulations team and coaches Mrs. Ashley Estep, Mr. Jason Johnson and Mrs. Sherry Lane.

ACT Workshops at Pikeville High School ACT Workshops

There will be ACT tutoring the following Saturdays in November: 

Saturday, November 11th (no specific subject- just ACT overview) from 12 pm – 3 pm

Saturday, November 18th (no specific subject- just ACT overview) from 12 pm – 3 pm

These sessions are not subject specific but will provide more of an overview of the ACT. 

Family Night Book Fair Book Fair

Parents, faculty and staff are invited to shop our after school book fair Thursday, November 2 during the hours of 5:00-7:00.  This is a great time to begin your Christmas shopping and encourage the Love of Reading in your children and grandchildren!  



Haseeb Ahmad and Campbell Dawahare Inducted as Student Senate Members 2017-18 PHS Student Senate Members

The ARI Student Senate Induction Ceremony was held on Thursday, August 17 in the Pike County Judicial Center. Districts from seventeen school districts in the region select one junior and one senior to represent their district. Pikeville High School student senate members for the 2017-18 school year include senior Haseeb Ahmad and junior Campbell Dawahare. 

The ARI Student Senate is a student agency component of the U.S. Race to the Top Grant received by Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC).  Student Senate members will work toward a more participatory role for students, as full partners in their education, through avenues of academics, community service, and school culture, focusing on themes of community health, economic development and energy.

PHS Inducts 44 New Members during the 57th Annual Induction Ceremony 2017-18 PHS National Honor Society Members

The 57th annual Pikeville High School National Honor Society (NHS) induction took place on September 6, 2017, at 6:00 p.m., in the Pikeville Alumni Auditorium.

During the induction ceremony, NHS Sponsor Tom Asbury welcomed the guests and spoke briefly about the National Honor Society.  NHS students are required to achieve high academic standards by maintaining a 3.5 unweighted grade point average; participate actively in community service projects and represent the four pillars of NHS including character, scholarship, leadership and service.



Our Community Helping after Hurricane Harvey Helping after Harvey

The Pikeville High School Fellowship for Christian Athletes and Teens Who Care, in collaboration with Pike Central FCA, Christ Central, and UPike collected donations that will be delivered to hurricane victims in Texas. 

How awesome it is to see our community work together for the greater good. Thank you to all who participated in this service project!

Open House for School Year 2017-2018 Open House at PHS

You are invited to join our staff at PHS for Open House for the 2017-2018 school year on Monday, August 21 for seventh and eighth grades at 6:00 p.m. and for Freshmen-Seniors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24.
