Pikeville High School FBLA will Advance to Nationals

PHS FBLA State Competitors

Twenty Pikeville High School students placed at the state FBLA competition and three additional teams advanced to the top eight on April 20 in Louisville, Kentucky.  The FBLA state awards program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas.  Eleven of these students qualified as national winners and will represent Pikeville High School at the 2016 National Future Business Leaders of America Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

First place winners included Logan Newsome, Courtney Maynard and Austin Wright in Graphic Design and Lauren Blackburn, Lexie Damron, Dalton Justice and Savannah Little in Public Service Announcement.

Second place winners included Sydney Fannin, Kayce Tackett, Ariana Velasquez and Alicia Zacarias in Digital Video.

Third place winners included Sean Hillwig in Business Calculations; Olivia Davis and Bridgett Pennington in Chapter Scrapbook.

Evan Hall placed fourth in Future Business Leader. 

Fifth place winners included Alexxa Gearheart, Beka Lindsey and Brooklyn Newsome in Partnership with Business and Pryce Atkinson and Trey Grant in Business Plan.

In addition, teams that advanced to the top eight included the Business Ethics team Sylvia Justice, Braden Kendall and McKinley Webb; the Parliamentarian team Michael Gaunt, Kevin Green, Kenton Hall, Cameron Lane and Beka Lyndsey; and the Introduction to Business Presentation team Keely Coleman, Alexis Stanley and Elisabeth Staggs.
